Jumper Wire
Our produced Jumper wire meets following specification which covers the standards and requirements for the construction, properties and packing of jumper wire used in the telecommunications network of Pakistan Telecom. Company Limited (PTCL).
The jumper wire/connecting wire is used for almost all normal needs for making wired connections in PTCL e.g. at MDF/ Cabinets, signaling plants and equipment.
Copper conductors have polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation. Two wires are uniformly twisted together with a right-hand lay. The approximate length of lay for the twinned wire shall be 25 mm.
Each conductor shall consist of a well annealed electrolytic copper wire of uniform quality smoothly drawn and of circular cross section and uniformly coated with pure tin.
Nominal conductor diameter of the jumper wire is 0.6 mm. The diameter at nay cross section does not deviate from the specified nominal value by more than
(+ 0.02 mm), (- 0.01 mm)
Each conductor is insulated with uniformly insulated polyvinyl chloride (PVC) of a non-fadecolour conforming to BSS 6746 type 2 .Wall thicknesses of the PVC is 0.25 mm nominal. The wall thickness at any cross section does not deviate from the specified nominal value by more than (+ 0.005 mm). The identification is unicoloured. For the two conductor of the jumper wire, following colour coding shall be applied.
a – wire white
b – Wire black
The D.C. resistance of a conductor shall be 68 Ohm /km at 20
